What LAN Only Mode and Developer Mode do
LAN Only Mode makes the printer work inside your network without the Bambu cloud. Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and farm software then talk to it directly. Bambu Handy and cloud printing stop working while it is on.
On recent firmware, third-party software may control the printer over LAN only when Developer Mode is also on. With it, you take responsibility for who can reach the printer in your network.
Turn it on
- 1On the printer screen open Settings → Network (WLAN) and switch on LAN Only Mode.
- 2Turn on Developer Mode on the same screen (newer firmware).
- 3Note the Access Code shown there. It changes when you switch LAN mode off and on again.
- 4Note the serial number: Settings → Device, or the label on the back.
- 5Give the printer a fixed IP address with a DHCP reservation in your router.
Ports farm software uses
- 8883: MQTT over TLS for status and commands.
- 990: FTPS for uploading print files.
- 6000: camera stream on A1 and P1 series.
- 322: RTSPS camera on X1, P2S and H2 series (needs “LAN Mode Liveview” on the printer).
These ports must be reachable from the computer running the gateway, so keep it in the same network or VLAN as the printers.
Connect the printer to Farmit
Install the Farmit gateway (Setup in Farmit gives you one command), then add the printer. The gateway asks for the Access Code without showing it, tests the connection and pins the printer's certificate.
$ sudo farmit-gateway printer add --host 192.168.1.50 --serial 01P00A123456789 --name P1S-1Common problems
- Access Code rejected: LAN mode was toggled and the code changed; read the new one on the screen.
- Printer offline: wrong IP or a different VLAN; check the address on the printer and ping it from the gateway.
- Camera refused: enable video (and LAN Mode Liveview on X1, P2S and H2) in the printer settings.
